Pakistan December 2024 onwards

Met dear friend Akbar Haqqani at Espresso, Tipu Sultan Road--he had just returned from Chittagong via Sharjah.  Later, the two of us went to Shahid Zia's office and had a chat with him.    

People are so parochial.  I talked to a man who spoke fondly about an army ruler and said people of his ethnic group liked the ruler because he was one of them--it did not matter that the army guy was a dictator.
